Being a London family photographer, one can often be at the mercy of the unpredictable English weather. This outdoor family session had been scheduled a few months back for early one Saturday morning in late April in Richmond Park, south west London. When I woke up it was raining quite hard and the prospect of the session taking place looked unlikely given the current weather situation. The forecast was for the rain to stop in an hour so and we were able to delay the session. Luckily the rain had stopped by then and the session could go ahead.
Ruairidh is my cousin and I had met both Isla and Niamh before, but little Millar came when I was back home in South Africa so this was the first time that I had met him. I met Ruairidh and Bronwyn, Isla, Niamh and Millar at agreed spot and we walked to our location which would provide us a with a few different photo opportunities. The girls loved playing about on the logs and tree stumps and amongst the old fallen leaves. At first they were a little shy but soon warmed up to the camera and by the end of the session they were really enjoying posing for photographs. They even managed to do a photo with their little brother Millar – they loved the responsibility of holding him for the photo and making sure he did not topple over!
We also managed to get some lovely family shots with all three of the children and their parents too. Although it is tricky to get everybody looking at the camera at the same time I think they turned out pretty well.
I really love shooting outdoors on location as opposed to in a studio. If you want to book your outdoor family session for the summer get in touch with me at firstname.lastname@example.org
