Everybody loves a party – especially a London Family Photographer! To celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday, a street party was held in my street. A raffle was organized and I donated a family photo session as a prize. The family that won the session wanted the photographs to be taken with their cousins. The photographs were to be given to their grandmother as a birthday present for her 70th birthday in July.
The session was arranged for last Sunday afternoon in beautiful Cannizaro Park in south west London. The cousins were a group of 6 children – aged 4 – 11 years old – Bella, Daisy, Bo, James, Lola and Lizzie. The weather was lovely and there was much excitement and energy. Bella, Daisy and Bo were dressed in lovely outfits by Olivier Baby.
We were able to find a number of different locations for the photographs ranging from fallen logs and old trees, to lovely weathered brick walls and green foliage. Cannizaro Park is a wonderful location as it provides many different photographic opportunities. Having 6 subjects was quite a handful but all the children were very well-behaved and co-operative and we got some great shots. I feel I was able to capture some lovely natural shots that depicted each individual child’s personality and characters well as some posed group shots with all of the cousins. We even managed to sneak in a few shots with the parents towards the end of the session.
All in all I think the session was a success and I hope that the granny Laffey will love her birthday present!
